What’s Panoplie?

Panoplie is an asbl, “association sans but lucratif” (association with no lucrative scope), created in 2006 to promote musical and cultural events and publications from Luxembourg, but not only in Luxembourg.

Maybe it’s not strange if such an initiative took place in this country. It surely is a small country, but its position, in the heart of europe, and its multicultural nature, residents coming from so many different places, make of it a great meeting point.
Since two years, we have organised lots of events, mostly in the Grand-Duchy, which has welcomed musicians from different countries: Italy, France, USA, Sweden,
Germany, Belgium...

In September 2006 we have published our first compilation, Eskimo Friends, which has been followed by more releases: Nudi o Vestiti's La verità è da mangiare EP, Giovanni Ferrario's Oxidate Memo EP, and our second compilation, Tales From My Pocket. This gave birth to Pocket Heaven, the record label of Panoplie.

This is what Panoplie is intended to be: a link between artists, public, places... between cultures. A way to show that art has no frontiers, and doesn’t always need big budgets and big stages.

What is this site intended to be?

First of all, what isn’t it intended to be: a mere promotion tool.
Yes, obviously the site can help promoting Panoplie events and publications, but not only: it must more generally be a tool for communication, in both ways.

Visitors are welcome to leave comments to our blog posts (not anonymous ones are preferred) and to submit their own contents, such as reviews or photos of concerts clicking here: we will be happy to publish/link.

Moreover, the site is intended to evolve, maybe with new sections: for example, how about a space where we could all leave our comments on cds we listened to or concerts we went to? Feel free to make any suggestion.
